Hospital Operations Manager

Kristen Bloomfield

Kristen Bloomfield is our Hospital Operations Manager, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for animal welfare to the team. She holds an Associate of Art in Liberal Arts and an Associate of Science in Veterinary Science Technology, is a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), and is also a Fear Free Certified Professional. Kristen’s journey into veterinary medicine began through a close connection with the owner of a local shelter, whose dedication to helping animals greatly inspired her. This led Kristen to realize her own mission—to be a voice for the voiceless and help as many animals as possible.

Her veterinary career began in 2006 as a CSR at a low-cost spay/neuter clinic at the shelter, where she later transitioned to working as a kennel technician. By 2012, Kristen had moved into emergency medicine as a veterinary assistant and in 2014, she joined PERC, where she steadily advanced from vet assistant to surgery and emergency nurse, then to surgery lead/manager, and ultimately to her current role as Hospital Operations Manager.

Kristen is particularly passionate about shelter animals, adoption, and raising awareness about unethical puppy mills and the mistreatment of animals. As a vegetarian for over 20 years, she is committed to advocating for animals both inside and outside of the hospital. At home, she shares her life with her husband, their two-year-old son, and their eight-year-old Pitbull, Sophie.

On weekends, Kristen enjoys spending time with family and friends on their boat or at the sandbar, making the most of her time outdoors. She is dedicated to helping both people and animals in any way she can and is especially passionate about fostering a positive culture at PERC, supporting her team, and promoting mental health awareness.
