Our Critical Care Capabilities

PERC is fully equipped to perform a wide range of specialized critical care procedures. Our facility features state-of-the-art technology and is staffed by an expert veterinary team available 24/7.

Here are some of the critical care services we offer:

  • Multiple types of blood transfusions

  • Intralipid therapy for certain, life-threatening toxicities

  • Extensive monitoring capabilities including continuous EKG, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry

  • 24/7 access to in-house lab testing and imaging including blood gas, coagulation, CBC/Chemistry, x-rays, ultrasound, and CT scan

  • Vasopressor therapy

  • Multimodal analgesia

  • Polytrauma management

  • Emergency airway management

  • Parenteral nutrition and feeding tubes

  • Continuous body cavity drainage

  • Septic shock

  • Extensive post-operative care

  • Metabolic disease

  • Illnesses requiring 24-hour monitoring

Your pet may require extended critical care services in the following situations:

  • Unresponsiveness

  • Respiratory distress

  • Broken bones and other trauma

  • Heart failure

  • Severe wounds

  • Bites or stings from a snake or insect

  • Animal bites

  • Diabetic crisis
