Operations Manager

Kate Podwirny

Kate Podwirny is our dedicated Operations Manager with a diverse background in veterinary medicine and a passion for animal care. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology, an Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology, and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) as well as a Fear Free Certified Professional. From a young age, Kate knew she would work with animals; her lifelong dream has always been to be an "animal person."

Kate began her career in veterinary emergency medicine in 2007 and has held nearly every role in the hospital setting, from kennel attendant and technician assistant to CSR, licensed technician, and ER department manager. Her journey through these varied positions has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the operations of a veterinary hospital, leading her to her current role as Operations Manager. She is deeply committed to personal and professional growth, continually striving to become the best version of herself and to help as many people and animals as possible throughout her life.

Kate's home is a lively place, shared with her two amazing children, a Rottweiler named Lincoln, a Dogo Argentino named Fang, three cats—Kale, Frankie, and Bianca—two gerbils named Guava and Mango, a Pacman frog named Sarge, and eight tarantulas, each with their own unique names. In her spare time, Kate enjoys quiet weekends with her family and Olympic weightlifting. She is also deeply passionate about mental health and is dedicated to supporting her team in any way possible.

Kate loves teaching and finds great gratification in sharing her knowledge and elevating those around her. She credits great mentorship for where she is today and is committed to paying it forward by fostering the growth and success of her team.
