24/7 Pet Emergency Care
Emergency and critical care services are available 100% of the time, day or night. After an initial assessment, any further diagnostics or treatment will be explained, and estimates presented for approval. For pets requiring intensive monitoring or advanced care, our Critical Care Services are available to provide round-the-clock support.

Veterinary Surgery
Dr. Hanson, Dr. Fiore, and the surgical team hold appointments at Pet Emergency & Referral Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until noon at which point the surgical team begins surgeries in the afternoon. Appointments in the afternoon can be arranged but may require flexibility regarding wait times or dropping off a patient since these are surgery hours. The surgical examination and consultation fee, along with any further diagnostics or treatment will be presented as an estimate for your approval. Consultation with Dr. Hanson or Dr. Fiore does not obligate your pet to have surgery and all diagnostics and treatment options will be discussed in detail prior to any surgical procedure being decided upon.
Patients hospitalized and recovering from surgery are cared for around the clock even if Dr. Hanson or Dr. Fiore are not in the hospital. Our Emergency department holds medical rounds with our surgeons and alerts them to any significant changes.
Hours: Monday through Friday
Appointments: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Surgery hours in afternoon and into evening.

Dr. Lechner and her team are dedicated to providing compassionate and detailed care for complex and chronic illnesses for cats and dogs. We know how important it is for an owner to understand their pet’s condition and we work closely with owners to ensure that they are knowledgeable about the disease and well-informed on their options regarding treatment.
Our Internal Medicine service is available by appointment Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Hospitalized patients and internal medicine patients in emergency situations are cared for after hours by our emergency team with supervision and orders from Dr. Lechner and the internal medicine service.

Medical Oncology
Led by board-certified oncologist Dr. Bushra Zaidi, our Medical Oncology Service provides compassionate and advanced care for pets diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Zaidi specializes in treating various cancers, including lymphoma, mast cell tumors, hemangiosarcoma, transitional cell carcinoma, and osteosarcoma, using a personalized, multidisciplinary approach.
Initial consultations involve discussing diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options, with diagnostics like imaging and lab tests often performed the same day. Treatment options include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgery, tailored to each patient’s needs. Chemotherapy protocols are designed for pets to minimize side effects, while immunotherapies like melanoma vaccines stimulate the immune system to fight cancer. For complex cases or high-risk patients, our oncologist collaborates with internal medicine specialists to ensure comprehensive monitoring and care.
Our goal is to manage disease progression, improve quality of life, and maintain remission through regular check-ins and advanced imaging when needed.
Hours: Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment.
