Lauren started out in the veterinary field at 14 years old, (5 years old if you count the fake fixing up of her amazing childhood dog). She always had a passion for animals, and from a very young age knew this amazing field was where she belonged after working in multiple clinics from 14-18. From 19-24, Lauren worked at a remarkable general practice while also moonlighting at an overnight emergency hospital. In 2014 Lauren made a big move to Hawai’i. She spent a year adventuring the beautiful island of Oahu with her two dogs, between shifts at a busy local specialty ER animal hospital. After coming back to the mainland, she decided to call the east coast of Florida home, and was able to complete her goal of becoming a licensed veterinary technician. Lauren works alongside Dr. Lechner as a nurse on the internal medicine team, as well as utilizes her knowledge and skills to help manage the general day-to-day operations of the hospital, and team. While working with the rest of the leadership team to continuously evolve and improve the medical care PERC strives to offer, she also finds that an important part of her job is directed towards diligently maintaining and improving the quality of life for the heroes in scrubs that work so hard to take care of our communities pets.
In her free time, Lauren spends time DIYing with her husband around the house, and loves anything outdoors – especially a good hiking/camping trip in the mountains!
Lauren now has 4 rescue animals, Bianca, her best friend, and senior pit bull who has been by her side every step of her life for the past 14 years, Shenzi a tiny but fearless chihuahua, Sierra, a beautiful blue pitty bull, and Blade, a three-legged and unstoppable little black cat (who has no idea she’s actually supposed to have four legs).
